Mother Goose Program

Developing positive relationships in families with young children

Mother Goose Program

For parents of children 0 -2 years
The whole idea of the Parent Child Mother Goose Program is incredibly simple and amazingly powerful.

Once a week, in a magical way, lyrics and lullabies are intoned with affection, inflection, finger plays, bounces and tickles.

Teaching is directed at the parent so that children participate as is relevant to their stage of development and inclination.

Storytelling is an integral part of the program with stories being chosen and told for the benefit and enjoyment of the adults.

The pace is slow and relaxed with plenty of time for repetition and casual discussion of issues and questions as they arise.

The atmosphere is supportive and accepting, with the intention of building the confidence and comfort level of all participants and creating a feeling of community and mutual support within the group.

The Gateway Community Health Parent Child Mother Goose program is entering its sixth year in Wodonga. At present the program is registering interest for attendance in the term 3 & 4 2011 group.
