Get Together House is a psychosocial rehabilitation day program who provide group and individual psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery services. To maximise the social and community participation of people with mental illness and psycho-social disability GT House uses a recovery-orientated approach, which focuses on strengths and personal growth.
Services are available to adults aged 16-64 with a mental illness and psychiatric disability, living in the Upper Hume Region of Victoria.
All participants have an Individual Service Plan (ISP) which is developed with their key worker at GT House. This plan describes the person’s recovery and rehabilitation goals and the groups or programs which the person will undertake at GT House. Programs are run over 4 terms each year.
What Programs Does GT House Operate?
We have a variety of different group programmes, including:
- Women's social/activity group: the Mulberries,
- Men's social/activity group,
- Men's support/discussion group,
- Outings,
- Camping trips and holidays,
- Sporting activities,
- Access and information about community facilities, groups and activities, and
- Recovery groups
We also offer individual programmes, which may include:
- Assistance with living skills: shopping, cooking, etc.,
- Accessing the local community,
- Working towards employment or training,
- Personal support,
- Recovery strategies,
- Psychoeducation, and
- Craft/sporting/leisure activities
